Uncle Fester has an 'electric' personality (110 volts) and can light bulbs by placing them directly in his mouth. He has a high-pitched nasal voice and his appearance is startling at first glance. His complexion, like Morticia's, is a dead pallor. He keeps his bald head gleaming by waxing it, enjoying the pain along the way. His deeply embedded eyes are circled with black and his wardrobe consists of a single, floor-length greatcoat. Uncle Fester is incorrigible and, if not the ignorance of the public and the good nature of his family, might be under lock and key. One of his favourite past-times is exploding dynamite caps. His normal body temperature is minus three degrees and he has been known to consume mercury to perk himself up. Uncle Fester has a nasty habit of falling in love with pen pals. When he sulks, he often retreats to his tree house in the garden, where he keeps pet hawks to drive away any depressingly cheery birds.
Michael Roberds stars as Uncle Fester. Over the past 15 years, Roberds has amassed an incredible 500 minor roles in series and film, along with around 40 major parts and a host of commercials. His resume also includes recurring roles in Super Dave's All-Stars and Police Academy--The Series. He writes and performs sketches for David Chalk's Computer Show, in addition to roles in Strange Luck and Ernest Goes to School.
Born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Roberds was reading by the age of three. He entertained his neighbours by reading them jokes at parties and quickly grew to enjoy the attention. Throughout his school career, he was active in theatre productions and began acting professionally in 1987. Always an active television fan, Roberds' performances have been inspired by Jackie Coogan (the original Uncle Fester), Curly Howard and Lou Costello.
More recently, Roberd's roles have included appearances in LAPD Conspiracy, The Shipment, and Saving Silverman. In 2000 he starred in Tilt, alongside his Addams Family co-star Glenn Taranto.
Roberds is also a member of the comedy troupe "Almost Midnight".
