May 28 2004: This site was originally produced between 1999 and 2000, before disappearing from the net a few years ago. After recently stumbling across the original files while clearing my PC, I decided to return the site to the net, albeit in an archived form. There won't be any updates, but as my first ever website I've got a lot of fondness from it, and it's nice to have it available once again. Enjoy!

Production on The New Addams Family ceased on Friday 28th May 1999, upon the completion of the 65th episode, "Death Visits the Addams Family". All episodes have now been seen on television, and continue to be seen in regular repeats on the Fox Family Channel and more recently the Fox Kids network. The show is also broadcast in a number of foreign territories.

Although no official statement has been made over the cancellation, it is understood from cast members that a second season was deemed unfeasible primarily due to financial issues.
The New Addams Family formed a flagship show for the Fox Family Channel relaunch in November 1998.

It immediately established itself as the network's highest rating show, and continues to form a significant part of their line-up. A total of 65 episodes were rapidly produced in Canada by Shavick Entertainment between 1998-1999, at a cost of over $35 million.

Glenn Taranto (Gomez Addams) commented that: "We, as a cast, wanted to make more and so did the crew. We had a magnificent crew by the way. They deserve as much credit as we do for making a show we hoped fans would be proud of. When an artistic decision is based on finances the financial decision will usually win. Always remember this is called Show 'Business'.

"We had a great run and have to be thankful to Fox Family and [Executive Producer] Lance Robbins for giving us this chance in the first place. It would seem none of the other networks saw the potential in an 'Addams Family' redux. So a tip of the hat to Lance for taking a chance on a classic show with all-new faces. Mike Roberds (Uncle Fester) and I have said many times how happy we all were that it never became 'The Munsters Today'."
