Barnabas leads Maggie to the secrecy of the Eagle Hill Mausoleum, leaving Willie with a crisis of conscience. Disguising his voice, Willie defies his master and makes a phone call to Maggie's search party.
Episode 231 wr. Malcolm Marmorstein dir. John Sedwick tx. 05/15/67 The rescued Maggie continues to suffer from her mysterious illness, leaving Dr Woodard with no option but to arrange a blood transfusion. As night falls, Maggie is compelled to leave the cottage.

Jason harbours suspicions about Willie's work for Barnabas and the heavy bruising on his face. A crazed Maggie demands that Joe leaves the cottage after he attempts to prevent her from leaving.

Maggie continue to resist attempts from her friends to protect her as Barnabas' influence increases. As Victoria waits in vigil, she is terrified to discover Maggie's door locked as the dogs begin to howl.

Maggie is discovered unconscious with two puncture wounds on her throat. Admitted to hospital, her condition worsens and a nurse pronounces her dead, yet she disappears mere moments later.

Maggie is brought to the Old House in a trance by a welcoming Barnabas. Taking her to Josette's room, her reveals that she is to become Josette, the recreation of his lost love.
Episode 237 wr. Malcolm Marmorstein dir. Lela Swift tx. 05/23/67 Sheriff Paterson begins to investigate the disappearance of Maggie, while Woodard worries that she may now be dead. While walking in the woods, Jason hears the ominous howling dogs. 
Episode 238 wr. Malcolm Marmorstein dir. Lela Swift tx. 05/24/67 Carolyn and Victoria pay a visit to the newly restored Old House, where they compliment Barnabas on his work. After they leave, Maggie emerges entranced, dressed as Josette.

Barnabas' brainwashing seems to be complete, as Maggie now believes herself to be Josette. However, overhearing Joe and Sam as they visit the Old House, Maggie struggles to retain her true identity.

Barnabas continues to evade the suspicions of his family, not least from David. After the boy is instructed to stay away from the Old House, he sneaks back in to discover the brainwashed Maggie.
Episode 241 wr. Malcolm Marmorstein dir. John Sedwick tx. 05/29/67 David is convinced that Maggie is the ghost of Josette, but the chance arrival of Roger prevents the truth emerging. After they have left, Maggie calls out to David plaintively.

Dr. Woodard confides in Burke his confusion over Maggie's blood samples, which seem to contain an unidentified aberrant cell. To his shock, his office is later entered and the samples are stolen.

Eager to regain a foothold for his investigation, Woodard attempts to take a sample of Willie's blood, but he refuses. Jason places pressure on Elizabeth to marry him.
Episode 244 wr. Malcolm Marmorstein dir. John Sedwick tx. 06/01/67 Elizabeth is blackmailed by Jason, who is adamant that he will reveal her secret if she does not announce their marriage plans. As her relationship with Carolyn worsens, Elizabeth complies.
