following is a list of shots and scenes cut from the original, 97-minute
theatrical version of House
of Dark Shadows. The preview
screenings of summer 1970 contained a few of these scenes, but it
is unknown which ones, in spite of a number of differing reports.
According to several recent correspondents, a few 16mm prints of
a 10-minute longer version have been distributed over the years,
allegedly containing the 'David Hanging' scene, a gorier cut of
Carolyn's staking, the scene where Carolyn's coffin is opened
and the Stokes and Willie scene. Attempts to find these prints have
so far proved unsuccessful. If you have any information about copies
