Site
History
The Dark Shadows
Journal Online first began in Summer 1998 as a web-based
offshoot from the popular Dark Shadows Journal fan
magazine, which has been published irregularly since 1996.
In October 1999, the site moved to its own domain server
at www.darkshadows.co.uk.
In July 2001,
the site relaunched with a new look and a broad remit to
bring fans the best of Dark Shadows reference resource
on the web, with interviews, articles, fiction, up-to-date
news and exclusive photographs. With regular updates and
an ever-growing archive of information, all involved with
the site hope to make it the best way to enjoy Dark Shadows.
In February 2002,
the site moved to a new permanent home at www.collinwood.net.
The site continues to be run as a fan service and is not
affiliated with any official body representing the show.
If you enjoy visiting here, please consider using the site's
Online Store
- all purchases earn the site a commission fee (at no additional
cost to the purchaser) which goes towards offsetting the
ongoing domain and hosting costs of the project, securing
its long-term future.
In May 2002, the
site relaunched on its new server, re-establising its place
as a primary source of Dark Shadows information and
discussion on the internet. The site was also a proud contributor
of original information and commentary on the show for the
official MPI Home Video Press Release that promoted
the first Dark Shadows DVD releases in summer
2002.
About
the Editor
My name is Stuart
Manning, and I'm a magazine designer and also work as a freelance writer and graphic artist. In addition to editing the Dark Shadows Journal
since 1996, I have also written about the show extensively
in a number of publications, including a chapter in the
official reference guide, the Dark
Shadows Almanac: Millennium Edition. I'm currently the producer of Big Finish's series of Dark Shadows audio dramas, featuring the original cast in new stories set after the classic show ended. To read about the CDs, click here. For more information on my other projects
