Hotel Sold Out... Again |

As
August's Dark Shadows Festival nears, ShadowGram
reports that both the event venue and alternative hotel
are now sold out. The Festival are now recommending Lower
Manhattan's New York Millennium Hilton Hotel, at
55 Church Street, New York, NY 10007: Telephone 1-212-693-2001.
The hotel is two subway stops from the Brooklyn Marriott
Hotel where the Festival will be held.
The new venue offers the same Festival discount rate of
$135 a night for one or two persons between August 28 and
September 2. Reservations can be made until Friday August
18 by calling 1-800-HILTONS. Fans must mention the Dark
Shadows Festival in order to receive the reduced price.

Alexandra
Moltke's (Victoria) documentary Porraimos: Europe's
Gypsies in the Holocaust will be shown on New York's
WNET-Channel 13 on August 3.
The
MPI Dark Shadows DVD Club is soon to offer limited
edition copies of Dan Curtis' script for episode
460, complete with revised pages and Dan's original hand-written
notes. Curtis will personally autograph each script cover.
Josette's
Music Box, a rare and highly prized collectable, is
to be reissued by MPI this September.
The new version will be an accurate replica of the classic
1970 clockwork toy, with a new packaging design.
MPI
Home Video will be promoting their range of Dark
Shadows DVDs with a new commercial airing during the
first week of August. Look out for it on Sci Fi, Lifetime,
Direct TV and the Lifetime Movie Network.

DVD special Dark Shadows Reunion. The VHS

release features the 35th Anniversary cast and crew discussion
panel held in 2001 by the Museum of Film and Television,
including appearances from Alexandra Moltke (Victoria

Dan Curtis. Simultaneous release on VHS and DVD formats
is set for September 30. The DVD release will also include

MPI
Home Video have confirmed a number of extra features
for the upcoming Dark Shadows Reunion DVD.
These comprise Jonathan Frid's (Barnabas) complete 1969
appearance on the Merv Griffin Show and two 1969
promotional spots featuring Kathryn Leigh Scott (Maggie).
It has also been confirmed that there will also be a VHS
release of the programme, sans extra features. The DVD is
slated for release in early September and the VHS edition
will be launched at August's Dark Shadows Festival.

reports that the fall will see the release of a special
DVD, with the working title Dark Shadows Reunion,
featuring footage from the 2001 gathering of cast and crew
for the Museum of Television and Radio's salute to Dark
Shadows. The panel discussion includes contributions
from over a dozen series alumni, along with highlights from
the series and after-event reception held for the guests.

Four
years after the last Dark Shadows novel was published,
there is finally some concrete news about the format's future
in print. In a webchat held yesterday, actress and novelist
Lara Parker (Angelique) confirmed: "I'm halfway
through with my next Dark Shadows novel. It's very
exciting and takes place in Salem and in Collinsport when
the series went off the air." The book is due out in
2004, published by Tor Books.
