Craig
Hamrick is preparing a special memorial edition of Louis
Edmonds' biography, Big Lou, to debut in
late 2002. The new book will feature a colour cover (see
left), and includes
many newly discovered facts and photographs about
Louis' career, with the text expanded
to almost twice the length of the original. Craig is also
working on a separate volume, titled Barnabas and Company,
celebrating the careers of the Dark Shadows cast,
offering many newly discovered photographs, interviews and
facts, along with rare newspaper articles and media coverage.

MPI Home Video's delayed 35th Anniversary
video documentary Dark Shadows Memories was due for
simultaneous release on VHS and DVD formats on February
26, but has now been delayed until later in the year. The
DVD release will include unique bonus footage not available
on the VHS edition. Promising series highlights,
rare and unseen footage and interviews with cast and production
alumni, with an approximate running time of two hours, it
can be pre-ordered at a discount of up to 25% from Amazon.com.

a CD album of her acclaimed one-woman show Inside

of Dark Shadows (1970) and Night
of Dark Shadows (1971) are available for a limited
time exclusively on Amazon.com. Each film retails at $13.99.

Amazon.com have enhanced their listings of Dark
Shadows books, presenting a selection of sample interior
pages in webpage-based form, allowing readers to "try
before they buy". Enhanced titles include the new Dark
Shadows Memories: 35th Anniversary Tribute and The
Dark Shadows Movie Book, both of which are now discounted
by 30%.
Dark Shadows: A View of Collinsport is a new fan
publication due in October, offering a complete illustrated
guide to the series and movie outdoor locations seen on
the show. The price will be around $20.00; proceeds benefit
the restoration funds for some of the properties cited.

Lara Parker is writing a new Dark Shadows
novel, to be published by Tor Books in 2003. The new
novel will be a slightly bigger format trade paperback than
the HarperCollins books. The story concerns Angιlique and
Judah's encounters in the 17th Century and, conversely,
the hippie culture of the 1970s.

of Dark Shadows Restoration Website is offering a $1,000
reward for the return of the longer 16mm version of House
of Dark Shadows. Unconfirmed reports suggest that an
alternative edit exists, running an
additional ten minutes in length. Privately owned copies
of this rare print are sought, no questions will be asked.

Passes on new Dark Shadows |

Curtis Productions previously
reported: "The Fox Television Network has ordered a
pilot script for a potential new Dark Shadows weekly
primetime hour series for the 2002 fall season. Dan Curtis
has finished the script along with a collaborator, and
it has been delivered to Fox for consideration." It
has since been announced that "Fox Broadcasting has
passed on the pilot
script they ordered for a possible new primetime Dark
Shadows weekly series. Unfortunately,
Fox decided to pursue other genre program options... But
Curtis remains interested in doing another Dark Shadows
project should the opportunity arise."

Leigh Scott's publishing company Pomegranate Press
has recently published Dark
Shadows Memories, a special 35th Anniversary tribute,
featuring numerous rare, previously unpublished photographs
in colour and black and white, along with the updated and
corrected text from Scott's original memoir My Scrapbook
Memories of Dark Shadows, which has been out-of-print
for over 10 years. In addition to this, there is foreword
from Alexandra Moltke-Isles (Victoria Winters) and
an interview with David Henesy (David Collins). The

The Dark Shadows
Journal has just released a new 35th Anniversary
Barnabas Collins Artwork Print, an accurate full-colour
replica of the original painting seen on the Collinwood
foyer set. Printed in full colour on glossy card stock,
each print is signed and numbered by the artist, and limited
to just 100 copies. Click here for more information and

The long-delayed final double-length issue of the Dark
Shadows Journal will now be published in late Summer
2001. With over 80 pages of articles, interviews and features,
the magazine will also feature a full-colour cover. Contributors
for the final issue are still sought, and we hope that anyone
who has enjoyed the magazine in the past will feel encouraged
to put pen to paper and share their thoughts.
The reference book The Resurrection of Barnabas Collins,
a guide to episodes 206-264 is due out with the final double
issue. The patience of fans is appreciated and we genuinely
believe that readers will find the finished products worth
the wait. Both publications are available for pre-order;
